Concept Development - Construction and Assembly Designing

With the main concept behind the design sorted out, it's time to turn to the internals and consider how all the required components fit into the body, and how they all lock together. The backbone of the construction revolves around a unibody concept. Inspired by the construction of Apple's Mac line, I am attempting to create a core component featuring all the necessary boss and mount points to which everything else will lock into. This part will be injection moulded, with an exterior of aluminium wrapping around it. To match the exterior, the dials and lens surround will also be aluminium, probably satin finished. The front and back sections of the camera will be inter-changeable at assembly stage, allowing for regional adaptations to be created with different surface finished such as leather, high gloss acrylic, and possibly polished ceramic. This means the camera can totally change persona depending on the global region or market being targeted. Have a look at my sketches below attempting to flesh out the planned construction of the camera.
